Scenario 2
You want to determine whether the weight of male weight lifters is greater than the average weight of males in the populations, 180 pounds. You measure the weights of 10 male weight lifters randomly selected at Gold's Gym.
Scenario 3
Whether they were athletic, moderately athletic, or not athletic. Then they were tested for reaction speed. Reaction speed was measured indirectly through reaction distance, as follows: A vertical meter stick was dropped and they caught it. The distance (in centimeters) that the stick fell is the reaction distance, and shorter distances correspond to faster reaction times.
Scenario 4

Half of the volunteers will use the new chair and half will use the old chair, each volunteer types a randomly selected passage for 2 minutes and the number of correct words typed is recorded.

A real estate agent wants to determine if there is a relationship between the size of a home in square feet and the list price. She randomly selects 50 homes in her local market that are currently listed for sale and records two quantitative variables for each, square footage and list price.
