Problem
When completing a clinical intake for a 36-year-old Cuban mother of one child. She reports that she has recently identified as lesbian and that her coming out process has caused friction between herself and her parents. She reports feeling ongoing anxiety about her future. Her anxiety has been present for the majority of her adult life for which she has experienced ongoing panic, feelings of dread, sweaty palms, and tightening in her chest. While she has experienced these episodes in the past, they have increased in the last 6 months since she has come out to her family. She has occasionally used cannabis to cope with anxiety.
