Assignment task: For the next few questions, you will come up with your own example of an experimental research study. This study can be on any topic that you like, but it must be your own original idea (I do not want to find your answers on Google. This must be YOUR OWN study idea).
Q1. What will be the independent variable (IV) in your study? Be sure to specify the levels of this IV.
Q2. What type of independent variable is this? Explain why your independent variable falls into that category.
Q3. What will be the DV in your study? What is the operational definition for this DV (this doesn't have to be perfect)?
Q4. What is your hypothesis for your study (this can be an educated guess! It doesn't have to be correct!)? Be sure to state your hypothesis using the synthetic form.
Q5. Name and define one technique/strategy that you would use to control extraneous variables in your study. Be sure to explain what type of strategy you would use, and how you would apply it in this specific example.
