What when something does not go her way

Problem:

In the class, Shirly has a very short attention span. To begin with, she appears excited at the start of the lesson, then within 5 minutes, she get distracted and walks away and does other things like looking at books, checking pencils. . In regards to her mood, she is highly emotional. When something does not go her way, instead of communicating, she gets highly emotional, sometimes cries loudly other times, puts her head down and sobs and shuts down, does not respond to an adult. . Shirley struggle with foundational skills in literacy and numeracy, which can hinder their overall academic progress. Difficulties in letter-sound correspondence and numeracy skills can lead to frustration and disengagement from learning. She recognizes the words only with help. At school, Shirley continues to show difficulties with executive functioning particularly focussing and sustaining attention and coping with sensory input such as noise, planning and organisation. . Socially, although Shirley knows his class and is more accepting of being in the room and attempting class activities she is quite socially isolated from her peers. Shirley engages in solitary interests. She is drawn to a student/s when they are disengaged from learning and involved in other activities; she loves to join them but when they reengage in learning, she moves away from them.
