• Have you ever been through a firm's reorganization? What were the reasons for the change? What were the results? Reflect on what organization design means to you. Why do managers equate organization design with structure?
• Think about an organization with a history that you know well. How has its design evolved and changed? From what you know of its past, how has it mirrored the history of design described in this chapter?
• What do you see as some of the most significant design challenges facing organizations today?
• Locate the website of an organization where you might like to work or where you have been a customer. What do you think are the design criteria for that organization?
