3. An earlier UN Security Council resolution warns that Iraq "will face serious consequences" if it continues creating weapons of mass destruction (WMDs). Does this justify the US invasion?
4. The United Nations Charter allows countries to use force in self-defense. According the "Bush doctrine," the principle of self-defense gives the United States has the right to intervene in countries that might give WMDs to terrorists. Is this reasonable, given the sudden and unpredictable nature of terrorist attacks? What are some of the results of accepting the Bush doctrine? What are some results of rejecting it?
5. After the invasion, the Bush administration returned to the United Nations. What did Bush want? How did the United Nations respond?
6. Based on this case study, what is your impression of the United Nations? Come up with three arguments, and support them logically using evidence from the case study.
