Assignment
Write a 2-3 page report about the organization and your civic engagement activities and your feelings about the activity.
Your report should be 2-3 pages in length, typed and double spaced, 11 or 12-point font with 1" margins on all four sides.
Follow the prompts below to write a report about your civic engagement activities and reflection about your experience. Make sure to address each of the prompts in your report:
• Background Information:
o Briefly describe the CE activities in which you chose to become involved.
o When and where did your CE activities take place?
o What are some of the important issue(s) that underlie the need for the organization you in which volunteered?
o Discuss why you think volunteer service is important or helpful to the organization.
• Individuals or group(s) you came into contact through this assignment:
o Who were the people served by the organization
o What types of services are provided by the organization?
o If it was a campus activity, discuss the campus group that put on the event and identify participants and activity goals.
• What did you learn about the population(s) served, program, event, agency, or group?
• What was your personal reaction to each CE activity or activities in which you were involved?
• Why do you think that it is or may be important for people to give back to their community?
• How do you think that your CE experiences will benefit you academically, personally, and professionally?
• How do you think that participating in campus activities or work with campus organizations and community service might benefit you in the future?
• Do you plan to continue to be involved in one or more of your CE activities in the future? Why or why not?
