February is Black History Month and fits in very well with our topic of Bias.
A. What do you think might be the most important message from Black history month that you would share with young children?
B. How would you introduce Black history month and the topics of race to young children and how would you bring the topic into the classroom? (Remember we do not want to tokenize this).
C. What was your general feeling as the topic of race was covered in class? Was there something that specifically related to you?
D. Identify three children's books that would be appropriate to introduce to children about race. Give a reason why they are appropriate.
