For this assignment, all answers will be from the time frame after 1782 to 1865. Any answers prior or after the previously stated time will not be graded.
1. How did the issue of slavery play an important role when introducing new states into the Union? What were the politics from Congress when introducing legislature for a territory to become a new state? You must explain how slavery shaped each new state into the Union. Next, explain how this divided the United States in the North and the South quickly marched the country into war. Your answers must be on specific on the new states entering the Union after 1819.
2. How did a farmer growing crops in the Midwest in 1790s help to create the Industrial Revolution? Please make sure that your argument includes his overabundance of his crops that allowed the expansion of factories to support him. Don't forget to include the network to get his crops into the marketplace that also fed the market revolution. Explain how the first time in history where single young women who previously helped their mom at night in the farmhouse went from spinning wool to the spinning jenny. You must detail how in the first time in history how a single woman worked out of the home. Where did she work and how did those factories operate?
3. What was the reason for the Civil War? How did Lincoln prevent the slave states that didn't join the South from disunion during the war while taking slaves from those who fought against the North? How was this plan implemented?
4. Explain what led up to the writing of the U.S Constitution and the ideas behind the design. Make sure you explain the design of the three branches of government. You must include the three branches of government, the philosophy behind the structure of each, and why the difference between the House and Senate, especially with their length of their terms and why.
