Rehoboam, the predecessor of King Solomon, made a historical decision immediately following his coronation. He decided to follow the "wisdom" of his peers instead of the true wisdom of the elders. First, do you think Rehoboam made the right decision or the wrong decision? Regardless of your answer, what decision should he have made and why do you think so? Finally, what was the eventual consequence of this decision and how did it effect Israel's future history?
