Informative Poster: Early Sex Researcher
Choose one of the early sex researchers (or team of researchers, e.g. Masters & Johnson) described in Chapter 2. Use credible information from the notes, text, Internet or Library resources to further investigate the life and contributions of your chosen researcher. Your poster needs 5 sections that answer the following questions:
A. What is the historical context in which your researcher lived? This includes where, when?
B. Give a brief description of the culture and and the social values regarding sexuality during this time and place. In other words, what did people, at that time, think or believe about marriage , gender roles, same sex relationships, prostitution, sexual practices, sexual functioning?
C. What is this researcher's most valuable contribution to the understanding of sex? Give a brief explanation.
D. What was controversial about their work at the time? Would it be controversial now, why or why not?
E. What was something about this researcher's life or personality that you found interesting? Did that personal quality or life experience affect their research? If so, how?
Your poster needs to answer the questions above and give the viewer important information about the researcher and their contributions to the understanding of human sexuality.
