What varieties of man prevail in this society

Assignment task: How would a Phenomenologist and Poststructuralist, respectively, answer the following: "What varieties of 'man' (as in humans) now prevail in this society? And what varieties are coming to prevail? In what ways are they selected and formed, liberated and repressed, made sensitive and blunted? What kinds of 'human nature' are revealed in the conduct and character we observe in this society in this period?" (Adapted from Mills 1959:7) Instructions: Your introduction should discuss the two theories in general, regarding the questions as a whole. 2) Then, in the body of your essay, using Berger & Luckmann and Foucault or Bourdieu, compare and contrast how they would answer the above questions, using their key concepts (note: you do not have to use every single key concept, just the ones that apply to your discussion). This will require you to utilize at least 2 quotes (must be from the primary reading-i.e., the theorists' writings; and do not quote someone they are quoting) from each theorist; these quotes should reflect their general ideas about the questions as a whole. 3) Your conclusion should end with a discussion of which theory/theorist best aligns with your perspective in regards to the questions as a whole.)
