What types of things-events can lead to bipolar disorders

Problem

What do I already know?

A lot of times, when someone is dealing with a depression disorder, they will experience episodes. They episodes can be stress induced and can be caused by a lot of things happening in one's life. Depression is also not something that you will be able to notice immediately in someone. People who experience depression don't always show that they are depressed, they may have a smile on their face all the time and act like they are not having any troubles. Bipolar disorders occur when an individual experiences episodes of mood swings. The mood swings that occur can range anywhere from depressive episodes to highs of mania. I believe depression and bipolar disorders are easy to hide from others, which is why so many people struggle with these issues on their own.

What more do I want to know?

I would like to learn more about trauma/stress related disorders and what those mean for someone dealing with them. I would also like to learn more about bipolar disorders, for example, what types of things/events can lead to bipolar disorders? What triggers depressive episodes and what triggers manic highs?
