Problem
Chris Isaacson, CMA (AAMA), works for Walden-Martin Family Medical (WMFM) Clinic. He is responsible for initial patient interviews, taking medical histories, and documentation. Chris struggles with gathering the information needed from some patients. They do not always respond openly and honestly. Chris is also responsible for assisting with physical examinations. His duties include preparing and maintaining the examination room and equipment; getting the patient ready for specific physical examinations; and gowning, draping, and positioning the patient as needed. Because Chris assists with examinations, he must be familiar with the physical examination procedure and the order in which the provider needs various pieces of medical equipment. Throughout the physical examination process, Chris needs to be aware of proper body mechanics.
