Assignment: Integrative Leadership Theories
Where do you see yourself in 10 years? Imagine your perfect future... What would your job title be? What would your responsibilities entail? Where would you be situated?
(industry/location/environment).
In your paper, respond to the questions above. Next, explain which integrative leadership approach (Charismatic, Transactional, Transformational or Servant) would be most effective for you to adopt your future environment/job (*Feel free to blend and combine theories if you see yourself adopting only certainly qualities). Finally, explain what you need to do (goals) to achieve your ideal future.
Guiding questions may include but are not limited to...
1. What type of people would you be leading?
2. Why is this approach of leadership most effective in this job/environment?
3. Where are you now?
4. What do you need to do to achieve your ideal future?
5. What are the main challenges you foresee and how will you combat them?
Alternatively, if you envision yourself as a follower in your perfect future, you can write about the type of leader you want to follow. Follow the same guiding questions above, but with a different context. Why is type of leadership most important for this role/environment? How will you support your leader as a follower? Where are you now and how will you get there, etc.
