What type of consumers might be interested in product


Assignment Task: Visit an online store and identify a product that you are not familiar with. It may be a product that is completely new to you, or a type of product that you use but have never used this particular brand before. Research this product and construct a video presentation that covers the following:

1. Describe this product. Tell us about it's purpose, attributes, value to consumers (what problem does it solve), product features, and any other information you think is important to people that you think would purchase this product.

2. Based on your research, describe what type of consumers you think might be interested in this product. How old are they? What gender? Are they likely part of a particular income range or education level? Do they live in an urban area or rural area? Do they have a family? What sort of lifestyle do they lead? What sort of activities or behaviors does this person do that require this product? Make up a name for this person (like Cheryl)-- this is a "marketing persona" or fictional representation of the potential customers you have described.

3. Describe how persona you created would likely go through each of the steps of the Consumer Buyer Decision Process when purchasing the product you identified in question 1.

4. Comment on how understanding the Consumer Buyer Decision Process can help marketers more successfully reach their target consumers.
