A few years ago I came across a study that stated that 5% of American business managers could be classified as moral in their business dealings. What this means is that in business these managers apply their own personal moral code in whatever they do going above the ethical standards of their company. Another 5% were classified as immoral. These managers would do whatever it took to gain a competitive edge regardless of the ethical standards of their organization. That left nearly 90% of managers who were classified as amoral meaning that these managers would adhere to the ethical standards of their organization but would not go above that standard even if it meant violating their personal moral standard.
