What this essentially means is that we all agree as to what

For this discussion first read the section The Consensus Theory on pgs. 96-97. According to Durkheim, "Criminal law is a synthesis of a society's essential morality, based on the values that are shared by all 'healthy consciences.'" What this essentially means is that we all agree as to what behavior should be deemed criminal or against the law. This can be read as to construe that even the most minor infraction, such as not wearing a seatbelt is considered against the law or against the consensus of society.

For this discussion think of an action that is against the law but really should not be, and describe why you feel this way and why you think it is against the law in the first place. Examples might include smoking marijuana, wearing a seatbelt, drinking alcohol at 20 years old.

For this discussion, you will also need to comment on another students post as to whether you agree with their argument or disagree.
