Whether or not sworn peace officers can be relied on to be fair and unbiased may include membership in organizations that may appear to be "supremacist" in nature and whose doctrines are in opposition to a free and open society. Should peace officers who profess membership in such organizations (which may be based on race, religion, or ethnic beliefs) be allowed to serve their communities if they do not practice what the doctrines or dogma of their organization while on duty?
