Assignment task: Popular culture influences the formation of your cultural identity and worldviews. Start by selecting a television show, film, or book that you are familiar with where you feel many different cultures are represented. You may need to re-watch or re-read the show, film, or book you chose to help you answer the following questions. You'll be analyzing the show, film, or book to see how different intercultural groups are represented, and how they interact and communicate. When we say "intercultural," remember that this doesn't just mean that someone comes from another country. It could also mean someone with a different age, race, gender, religion, sexuality, social class, occupation, etc. There are usually many different cultures represented in a television show, movie, or book. You may have to dig a bit deeper to recognize them, but you will find them!
