Nurses make clinical decisions multiple times throughout the course of a shift. Evidence-based practice is the incorporation of valid, credible research findings into clinical practice and decision making. Nurses must have access to current evidence when faced with clinical questions or the need to make clinical decisions (Houser, 2018).
Describe a clinical situation where you were concerned (e.g., a higher incidence of falls, infections, errors, etc.) and where decisions were made to improve the situation. What sources of evidence were utilized to make the decision (e.g., personal experience, expert advice, etc.)? I look forward to your contributions!
