Students are instructed to reflect back on their childhood and one of their favorite toys. Share about your toy by: describing whether it was viewed as being stereotypical male, female or gender neutral. Describing what skills you believe you learned from the toy. Did the toy influence your physical, cognitive, and/or socioemotional development? In what ways did it impact your development? Make sure to link in concepts from the textbook and developmental theories. Discussing whether encouraging boys and girls to play with different toys could lead to gender differences in skills and abilities?
