DisasterRecovery.org (2015) describes disaster recovery as the process an organization uses to recover access to their software, data, and/or hardware that are needed to resume the performance of normal, critical business functions after the event of either a natural disaster or a disaster caused by humans.
Consider the company you work for now or another company with which you are familiar. What services does the IT department provide to the organization? What types of disasters are most likely to affect your organization's IT services? What has your organization already done to avoid or recover from these disasters? What more could be done?
