After watching two of its most famous scenes from A Streetcar Named Desire tell about the short film clips. These are two of the most frequently quoted lines from the play (from most American plays). Questions you might consider include, why do you think they're do often quoted? How does watching the clip help you understand the lines, the characters, and the play better? You might also consider that Vivien Leigh plays Blanche in the film adaptation (and played Blanche in the live stage production too). Leigh is perhaps better remembered today (at least in Georgia) for her 1939 portrayal of Scarlett O'Hara in the movie Gone with the Wind. What does seeing the actress know for Scarlett playing Blanche add to the character?
