1. What competencies were you able to develop in researching and writing the course Comprehensive Project? I was able to hone my skills with research by narrowing my scope of each subject and focusing on the most finite points and nuances of each leader and their leadership style.
The writing aspect developed the ability to use the outline, rough draft, final draft method to make for a better paper. How did you leverage knowledge gained in the Intellipath assignments (Units 1- 4) in completing the Comprehensive Project?
I was able to discern each leader's individual style based on the different styles we learned about in Units 1-4 and their core competencies.
How will these competencies and knowledge support your career advancement in management? I am hoping to be able to develop a strong leadership style above and beyond what I already have from past work experience to make me a more well rounded manager and leader.
2. Reflecting on the discussions, readings, Intellipath content and assignments in this course, what are the most important leader, follower, cultural and situational characteristics that contribute to effective leadership? Why? The most important factors of each point are that there needs to be an established structure between leader and follower, but containing enough flexibility to accommodate ever changing situations, cultural differences, and an increasing global market.
3. What role does technology play in the efficacy and influence of leadership in the 21st century? Technology is very important because it helps "expand the office" setting. With telecommuting, teleconferencing, and the like, you can conduct a team across the street or across the world. Knowledge of this helps make leaders more efficient in lowering costs and streamlining processes.
