Discussion Post: Exploring Early Civilizations
We learned about three of the world's earliest civilizations: Egypt, Mesopotamia, and China. For this assignment, you will compare and contrast two of these civilizations. Instructions:
1. Research the two civilizations that you did not describe in this week's Discussion Board.
2. First, discuss why you think the two civilizations developed where they did.
a. For example, why would civilization develop in the northeast corner of Africa but not farther west?
b. What role did rivers play in the development of civilization?
c. Was climate a factor in early civilizations?
3. Compare and contrast the two civilizations you have chosen in these three areas: political structures, writing, and the organization of their society.
The response should include a reference list. One-inch margins, Using Times New Roman 12 pnt font, double-space and APA style of writing and citations.
