After learning about elder abuse and child abuse in this unit, define these types of abuse, and discuss risk factors that are associated with their occurrence. Compare and contrast how different cultures view elders/children in their families and if you feel this have an impact on the risk of abuse to the elders/children in the home. What role does a forensic psychologist play in elder/child abuse cases? If you were a forensic psychologist, what recommendations would you make to prevent or mitigate elder/child abuse?
