Ethics Challenge: You are the president of a firm that publishes textbooks for medical students in more than 30 languages. On a recent trip to a university in a developing country (with a GDP per capita of under $1,000 per year), you discover that students are using bound photocopies of your best-selling medical textbook. Speaking with several students, they inform you that if they were required to pay for the actual books, they could not afford medical school. Witnessing the clear copyright violation firsthand, how do you react? What possible courses of action might you take? If additional information would be helpful to you, what would it be?
