Clinical Assignment
Whether you are a clinical psychologist, counseling psychologist, social worker or school psychologist, you will find yourself working with individuals who are experiencing some type of difficulty. Regardless of your theoretical orientation to treatment, a great deal will depend upon your own interpersonal skills in relating to others.
Everyone has some personal areas of strength as well as weakness that can affect their ability to counsel others.
(1) What personal strengths do you have that will make you successful in a counseling role? Give at least 2 examples and explain why they are strengths.
(2) What personal weaknesses do you feel would create the greatest challenge for you in a counseling role? Give at least 2 examples and
explain why they are weaknesses. Focus on the issue, not on the individual who is expressing their opinions. Any hostile or negative comments directed toward another student will significantly lower your score on the discussion.
Format your assignment according to the following formatting requirements:
1. The answer should be typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides.
2. The response also includes a cover page containing the title of the assignment, the student's name, the course title, and the date. The cover page is not included in the required page length.
3. Also include a reference page. The Citations and references should follow APA format. The reference page is not included in the required page length.
