Using Chapter 6-10 of O'Connor/Sabato or Unit 4 in AMSCO, you should familiarize yourself with a few concepts that relate to how you interact with the world politically. They are:

Each section of your infographic should show your mastery of the concepts relating to political identity with personal examples.

B. Political Socialization: Describe their political socialization.

1) Which two agents of political socialization are the most influential on their political psyche?

2) What is their first political memory?

3) How do generational or lifecycle events impact their political socialization?

4) How does their own political socialization compare to the average American citizen (the norm)?

C. Party Identification/Political Ideology: Identify their political ideology and party affiliation.

1) What are the most important political issues to them in their party's platform?

2) How strong do you think their political party identification is and do you think it will remain consistent as they age? Why?

3) What percentage of Americans have a similar ideology?

D. Political Trust: Evaluate their level of trust in political institutions, politicians and policies.

1) What influences their level of trust in the government?

2) What has influenced their level of political trust?

3) Using polling data on trust in government (look at Pew Center research), compare them to other Americans.

E. Political Efficacy: Describe their level of political efficacy.

1) What issues of economics, history, or politics are critical to influencing their political efficacy?

2) How does their political efficacy affect their participation?

F. Political Participation:

1) How politically active do they anticipate themselves being over the next ten years? Why?

2) How does their anticipated level of participation compare to the Average American (the norm)?
