Create a Thread: Choose to discuss smell.
1. You must include source other than lecture and lab book. If your source is the internet, your sources should be credible sources such as WebMD, Mayo Clinic, Nature or other Scientific Journals. Include the link (so that I can see the source).
2. Describe using anatomy of nose on how the corona virus is believed to affect smell.
3. Choose and answer at least 2 of the following:
a. What part of the pathway is affected? The beginning, the middle or the end? Explain, for example don't just write "end of pathway".
b. Describe some of the symptoms of sensory loss using appropriate terminology i.e anosmia, parosmia.
c. Explain how COVID symptoms affecting taste OR smell affect your ability to maintain homeostasis.
d. How long do symptoms last? Is there any recommendation to speed up recovery? Are there lingering effects?
