What obstacles you anticipate when implement your program

Assignment task:

You are required to make one original and one response post (please review the grading rubric). Make clear connections to our course material.  While it is okay to incorporate your own opinions, posts that contain only personal opinions or stories will not receive full marks.  You are required to make at least one response post.  Students are encouraged to integrate (and cite) class materials, readings and outside sources (e.g., an article from the library).  Your response posts should be roughly words in length and should critically engage with the ideas of your classmates.  Response posts can add new ideas or provide thoughtful and respectful critiques. Like your original post, your response posts need to be based on course material and/our outside research and not opinion. Late submissions are to be sent directly to your professor.

Watch the following film and read Tickets, Tickets and More Tickets - A case study of the Enforcement of the OSSA.

YouTube Video: Through a Blue Lens

Step Two: Answer the following questions:

Using specific examples from the film and the O'Grady et al., study, compare the different policing strategies shown in the film and discussed in the article. Given what you now know about homelessness, sex work and drug use, discuss what role you think the police should play (if any) when responding to these social problems in Canada.

The individuals profiled in the film Through a Blue Lens have lived troubled lives for sometime.  At the same time, almost all of the individuals who appear in the film are experiencing numerous obstacles (e.g., homelessness, addiction, interpersonal relationship problems).  If given the opportunity, what types of services would you integrate into a program aiming help these individuals? How would you prioritize housing, health, addiction services and potential employment opportunities?  What obstacles do you anticipate experiencing when implementing your program?
