Assignment task: Explain to your classmates what measures you would take if you were the manager of a fast-food restaurant with poor morale resulting partly from the negative energy of a new hire, Cathy. Chatty Cathy has created tension among the existing employees and based on your observation you need to take action to improve the work place.
Each employee is responsible for a specific work station individually (ie Frank on fries). Explain what you see as all sources of the problem and put forth remedies to resolve them. What strategies, theories or incentive you would consider, and why, in improving the work environment.
Lastly, you have concluded that if the solutions you put into place prove unsuccessful you will probably need to restaff some of the infectious employees. What are some of the things you will need to consider in attracting more quality candidates? What processes and activities would you have to use to ensure the right fit. Also, what incentives could you offer to attract and retain good people?
