Discussion Post: Parametric and Nonparametric Analyses
A young researcher is conducting a study and provided only a brief description to sign-up participants. The researcher only told you that she is trying to recruit subjects for a research project to determine which leadership style is more effective. She has posted this general description of the project on a Web site: "Looking for volunteers as subjects to complete a brief survey concerning leadership styles." Focus your discussion on the following questions:
a) As a potential research subject, what information would you want to know before registering to participate?
b) Why must non-parametric analysis be used to analyze the data obtained from the surveys?
c) What must this researcher know about the construction process of a survey that would ensure a valid, reliable assessment instrument?
