Problem: Considering the competitive nature inherent to a multitude of cultural norms in the United States, should it be any surprise that we find ourselves in the middle of an epidemic of steroid use? Citing multiple examples from the textbook & extra readings, which do you feel is a stronger influence on youth who engage in steroid use: 1) the widely known fact that many professional athletes use steroids and other performance enhancing drugs, or 2) the above-mentioned aspects of our competition-driven society?
