Assignment: The Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967
The Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967 was an expansion of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act. The provisions apply to federal, state, and local governments and organizations with twenty or more employees. In addition, this law protects job applicants and employees over forty years of age from employment discrimination based on age in terms of hiring, firing, promotion, layoffs, benefits, compensation, job assignments and or training. The ADEA forbids retaliation against those who file charges, testify, or participate in investigations, proceedings, and litigation under the ADAE.
