What might be some examples of criterion contamination

Discussion Post: Critical Thinking

Overall criteria are standards used to assess performance. In addition to grades, what are some criteria that could be used to assess the performance of college students? What might be some examples of criterion deficiency (i.e., what are some aspects of student performance that are not well assessed using these types of measures)? What might be some examples of criterion contamination (i.e., what are some aspects students might be judged on that are not relevant to student performance)?

I argue that many aspects of performance are dynamic. How could this notion of dynamic criteria be applied to assessing the performance of college students? Have you seen any examples of this at your institution?

Research suggests that coworkers appreciate those colleagues who engage in OCBs. However, research also suggests that engaging in too many OCBs can damage task performance. What are some examples of where performing OCBs interferes with task performance? What can employers do to encourage their employees to find an appropriate balance between task performance and OCBs?

In the United States, there is a great deal of debate about how to distinguish good teachers from poor teachers in public schools. Some people advocate using student scores on standardized tests to determine which teachers are doing well. Other people advocate using student ratings of teachers. What are some pros and cons of each approach?

The response should include a reference list. Using double-space, Times New Roman 12 pnt font, one-inch margins, and APA style of writing and citations.
