The media is often referred to as the "fourth estate" or the fourth branch of government.
• It is the arena where the game of politics is played. If that is the case, could one exist without the other?
• In other words, without the media, would politicians be able to do what they do?
• Without politics, would the mass media exist (the entertainment side notwithstanding)?
• What makes the media so powerful? With the growth of the social media, is that power shifting?
