Based on what we have discussed thus far in class, please also develop some additional insurance and ethics questions to ask an insurance agent.  Besides these 10 suggested questions, as part of your final paper, you need to provide 5 other ethics questions that you asked your agent.

Your final report should be not just a list of these questions & their answers.  Please turn the Q & A session into a well-thought out paper.  This should be a minimum of two pages, double spaced, 12-pt. font, with one inch margins. Include a summary of your thoughts on the profession of insurance, and the challenges the agent faces in making sound, ethical decisions. Please include as the 3rd page of your paper the list of questions you used as an appendix.

  5. What might be the consequences if an agent submits a claim for a dentist for work which has not been completed?
  6. Can an insurance agent issue a binding certificate for life insurance without collecting a down payment?
  7. What might be the consequences of an insurance agent that back dates an application for auto or homeowner's policy to provide coverage for a loss that took place before the current date and he/she is aware of the loss
  8. Is it legal for an insurance agent to sign an application for life insurance without witnessing the applicant's signing?
  9. We've discussed replacement policies in class. Can you give me an example of what you do in your practice to sell replacement policies in an ethical manner?
  10. Can you give me one example of what steps you take to ensure agent/client confidentiality in your practice?
