Assignment: Process Memo
After you've written your "Entering the Conversation" argument, compose a memo-addressed to me-in which you reflect on your argument and the process of writing it. The memo should be approximately 400-500 words (about a full page, single-spaced, 12 pt. font), and should address the following points:
1. What do you think you have done particularly well in this argument?
2. Look carefully at the rubric. In what areas do you feel your argument is falling short of the expectations-either mine or your own-for this assignment?
3. Who is your audience? How are you attempting to utilize pathos and logos to appeal to that audience? In what ways do you need help appealing to your audience?
4. How do you want your readers to perceive you as a writer? What kind of ethos are you hoping to establish, and how are you attempting to establish that ethos? In what areas do you need help to achieve the ethos you're after?
5. How did you incorporate (or choose not to incorporate) the feedback you got from your classmates in the Research Discussion Board? How helpful was the feedback?
6. What areas of your argument would you like specific feedback on?
EXPECTATIONS: The process memo will be graded on the thoroughness of your answers to the above questions; you are also expected to answer the questions formally and concisely (you are welcome to write in the first person). Your grammar choices should adhere to the standards of academic English.
