Assignment - The Whiteness Project
The Whiteness project is an online interactive documentary produced by PBS. It features white people talking about what it means to be white. Their comments range from one end of the spectrum to the other.
The filmmaker indicated that white people are almost never put in the position of actually thinking about their race, which is one of the reasons for this project. The links provided will take you to two (2) sections of same project.
Construct a 3 to 5 page response paper to project itself, and to the commentary made by participants. Be specific in your comments and cite examples. Use your readings and/or the text as references, as needed. If you choose outside sources , It might be helpful for you to look at the demographics of where the participants are from for your analysis.
