In his article, "Why Military History?," Bunting addresses the issues facing individuals who enter this field of study. What are some of the obstacles facing the military historian within academia? Why are these obstacles present? Are military historians "true academics?" Why or why not? Finally, what is your view of the future of military studies as an academic discipline?
