1. You have been hired as Chief of Police of a 100 officer agency. The former Chief lost control of the agency and his upper administration has been found "at fault" in several arbitrations filed by the local Police Union. What is your strategy to get your agency back on track and fix the errors of the former Chief? Explain how you would fix/address your staff and how you would address your troops. Please explain in detail.
2. You are the Chief of Police in an agency in South Florida. Some of the departments are moving away from polyester "traditional" uniforms and moving towards BDU type pants/shorts and a Polo Shirt for patrol. They are also moving away from shirt & tie to Polo shirt and Dockers for the Detectives. You like the traditional look, but your officers have a point about the comfort of the newer non-traditional uniforms. There is no budgetary issue with switching over from one to the other. What is your decision and why.
