Problem
We know that our organizations are made of people with different values, personalities, attitudes, and approaches. We also know we want to create organizations that are as inclusive as possible and leverage the participation and strengths of everyone.
Given this, in our own interest in growing as leaders, let's talk about our own approaches to power.
• What is your natural inclination to approaching power (your own and those you lead) in organizations? What are your strengths? How did you develop those strengths?
• Discuss areas you are interesting in developing further. What concerns do you have about the exercise of power? What challenges can you anticipate in both developing your skills and your general leadership practice?
• Finally, how do we building our leadership practice in terms of the exercise of power and influence in a manner that respects inclusion and diversity?
