What is your estimation of Aristotle's conception of justice? Do you think that a society that does not protect its citizens from dire poverty and destitution is failing in some of its basic duties? Consider how much the billionaires of the country have seen their wealth grow since the start of the Coronavirus. Jeff Bezos had a $10 billion increase in his net worth in one day in July 2020! Aristotle argues that it is in the interest of a society to ensure that there is not a great discrepancy in wealth between the rich and the poor. Do you agree or disagree? Do you think that society today is at a brink where the less well-off are strongly resentful of the wealth of the richest in society? Does, say, the former Occupy Movement have legitimate objections about the current economic/political structure of the U.S?
