Topic: Ethical decision making.
Background: You are the VP of Sales for a mid-size US company making its first foray into China. You have the opportunity to close on your company's first big order, and order that could conceivably save the company's life. The order has a value of $10M. Through discussions with the potential customer, you come to understand that a gift of $10,000 is customary in this situation, You check with a colleague or two and they confirm that "gift giving" is common in China.
1. What is your decision re providing a gift
2. How would you communicate to the prospect your decision to provide (or not provide...) a gift
3. Discuss and provide reasoning for your decision.
4. Would your decision change of the expected gift was $100 or $100,000. Provide your reasoning.
