1. At a busy freeway exit, why does a large franchised hamburger stand have more reason to provide customer satisfaction regarding price, quality, and quantity, than a home owned, non chain stand in the same location? Would a brand-name whiskey distiller have the same incentive for quality control relative to a small, unknown distiller not attempting to establish a brand name? Why?
2. What's Wrong with This Way of Thinking? "The unregulated private economy will always provide the consumer with what he wants at the lowest possible cost to society. As long as the consumer is willing to pay the cost of producing an item, the free market will provide it for him."
