Assignment Directions: Workers compensation fraud is a drain on the organization and the public trust in general. As a safety professional, we are tasked with preventing workplace injuries and illnesses and providing relief to those who need it. Legitimate injuries and illnesses require the filing of a claim and relief in the form of WC claims, appropriate compensation and medical relief. Some employees from time to time will take advantage of WC laws when it is not appropriate.
Using the information from the text find a Youtube video or news article. of someone making a fraudulent WC claim and as to why it is this is harmful to the organization, workers compensation and public trust. Be sure to provide the link to the video and answer the question (1) what is WC and its importance, and usefulness (2) what was the claim, (3) what was the alleged injury, and how were they caught, (3) how much money was the victim awarded (if announced, and (4) how this fraud can impact the company and public in general.
