Assignment task: Responding to two discussion board questions whether you agree or disagree with it. Can be two paragraphs for each response.
1. A social problem I see today is bullying. Kids are always being bullied or pure pressured into doing things they don't necessarily don't want to do but want to look cool. A lot of kids are vaping and smoking weed to "look cool." If they don't do those things they are considered not cool and got bullied or purely pressured into doing it. Kids feel the need to be cool and fit in or they will be an outcast and when your "friends" do something and you don't kids feel the need to do it too. Teachers, principals, and administration need to step in more in schools. More people need to come into schools and talk to kids. Tell them the consequences of these things. How they affect you and others. How to let kids be their own people. Kids often swing their wrong way in finding friends to be cool. Being "cool" isn't cool in that way. As you get older and you get out in the world people often look down on you because of it. I think a class should be taught in school learning about these things and how they affect your body.
2. A social problem I have chosen is poverty. Poverty can happen for multiple reasons, whether it's for job loss, health problem, etc. A way to fix poverty from happening is taking action on your own and donate money to those who are in need and who are suffering from poverty. It doesn't just have to be money though, it could be something out of your home such as clothing, food, water, anything to help the community. I personally would like to see people come together and work on eliminating poverty. If you see someone on the street who is homeless offer them water or food to help them out.
