Assignment: What Is BPM Maturity? Understanding BPM Maturity Assessment Concepts

Purpose of assignment: To show an understanding of BPM Maturity concepts and measures.

This assignment is designed to help you understand some of the BPM Maturity (BPMM) concepts and measures used to assess an organization's current state of BPM. Several articles and internet sources have been provided to assist you, they can be found in the syllabus. While we have provided you these sources you should research the topic to find additional information concerning BPMM. As you will find, BPMM has now had several years of practice in various organizations worldwide, and there still seems to be disagreement on what the BPMM factors, enablers, and capabilities are. However, the one thing that seems to be in agreement is the fact that a BPMM assessment is beneficial!

For this assignment you are to research and answer the list of questions below. For each question you are to:

1. research the topic using valid sources from the internet and/or library,

2. summarize the facts and opinions of your research source findings using your own words,

3. include a paragraph summarizing your conclusions based on your findings,

4. include a list of references [note: use at least 2 references to answer each question and briefly summarize your findings; and of course you can use the Process Audit Article - it is especially worth noting any disagreements in the literature, in those cases present all interpretations and note their sources].

2. What is the value of BPM Maturity assessment?

3. Can an organization be in more than one BPM maturity stage? Why or why not? Explain your answer.
